Meet the Founders:

Annie Jeng: Annie is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania studying Economics and History. She enjoys playing the piano and has won various competitions world-wide, including ones in Southeast Asia and in the United States. At Penn, she is part of a chamber quintet and is a host for Penn’s premier Classical music radio station. Among her favorite composers are Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt, and Claude Debussy.

Davis Butner:  Davis Butner is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, double majoring in Music and Architecture.  While a member of various string ensembles including Penn Chamber and Baroque Ensemble, he has participated in a number of performing arts groups including the Penn Symphony, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and Penn Singers pit orchestra.  You can often find Davis hosting Penn Encore Society’s radio show, Encore Classics, attending musical concerts in Philadelphia, or taking long walks in Penn Park. Davis is also an eZseatU representative for the Philadelphia Orchestra, and a Penn Arts Ambassador.

James Kwak: James is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Statistics and Finance. He is a pianist who has won awards at various competitions worldwide; most recently, he was the winner of the 2010 Hilda Nitzsche Concerto Competition at Penn. James’ piano trio participates in Penn Chamber, and he is also a host for Encore Classics, Penn’s premier classical music radio station. He prefers not to name favorite composers as they change quickly, but he does have a particular affinity for Russian classical music.

Jonathan Chen is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying majors in Music and Computer Science. He has been a member of several of Penn’s performing arts groups, including Penn Symphony Orchestra, Penn Chamber, Penn Chinese Music Society, Penn Glee Club, and Front Row Theater pit orchestras. Primarily, he plays the cello, but enjoys dabbling in other instruments and various genres as well, from rock, to jazz, to hip hop.

Denise Li is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Biological Basis of Behavior with minors in Chemistry and Cognitive Science. She is a violinist in the Penn Symphony Orchestra and a subscriber to the Philadelphia Orchestra. Some of her favorite pieces include Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony.

Trish Campos is a senior in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She played the flute from ages seven to eighteen, at which point she switched to piano. She loves Chopin, organic chemistry, and cats.
